Options if you want a private cooking lesson:
This could be a one-to-one session for just you or for a small group of up to four people of your choosing! A private cooking lesson is the same price regardless of whether it is for one person or four people. Home Cook School Tutor, Lindsay, will give you a shopping list and you will provide the ingredients based on how many will be taking part in the class. Private lessons normally take place in your kitchen (this includes holiday lets). We are based in Ayrshire, and whilst we do deliver lessons in other areas of Central and South West Scotland, we do ask that you contact us first if you want a lesson outside of Ayrshire. Some clients like to use their lesson to prepare for a dinner party or celebration meal. If you prefer not to shop for the ingredients, and would rather your Home Cook School Tutor brought everything along - just ask. Your tutor will agree the final menu with you when booking your lesson date.- 2 hour lesson (where you can cook at least 3 dishes and have the option to invite your friends round to enjoy the meal after your lesson). - 3 hour lesson (you will cook at least 4 dishes, you will stop and enjoy nibbles during the session). Price £140
- 6 hour full day lesson (you will cook around 6 dishes and have the meal during the lesson). Price £260

Based in the beautiful village of Kirkoswald, South Ayrshire, 'The Richmond' is a stunning oak beamed, Arts and Crafts Movement style hall. There is also a fabulous new professional kitchen where small group lessons take place.

Private Lessons in Your Own Home
If you would like to buy a block of lessons for a gift (or for yourself), please contact us directly for a discounted rate.
You will be contacted following the purchase of gift vouchers and Home Cook School will arrange to either mail the vouchers to you or drop them off - whatever is most convenient.
Private lessons start at £100 for a 2hr lesson, £140 for a 3hr lesson or £260 for a 6 hour lesson. Up to 4 people can join in for this price. Ingredients are not included. This is because we tailor-make the lessons to suit what our customers want to learn - sometimes its a simple pot of soup, sometimes its a lavish meal! Sometimes they want to cook for a sophisticated dinner party, sometimes they want to cook for the kids! So, to keep it simple, we provide an ingredients list a week before the lesson. This gives our customers plenty time to buy the ingredients and ask any questions they might have. However, if you are really keen to include ingredients - just let us know, and we can work out the menu in advance and add on a cost for ingredients. Online Lessons For when you cant all get together, why not organise a private online cooking lesson? Together we decide how many people will join the lesson and set up a video call. We send out the ingredients list a week in advance too (ingredients are not included). All this from the comfort of your own home!
